UNIQLO LUCKY COUNTER - GET TWEETING!

In the run-up to their website re-launch on 9 September 2010, UNIQLO have handed over control of their best selling items to their customers, in a Twitter initiative called LUCKY COUNTER, running from NOW until the 8th of September.

You are invited to Tweet about selected items to reduce the cost; the more Tweets, the more you can save on the price!

All Twitter users have to do is simply visit the LUCKY COUNTER website , select their item and follow the instructions to Tweet. You can even see the price dynamically change in real-time. The final reduced prices of these UNIQLO best-selling items, including super soft merino cashmere, Japanese denim, ultra-light premium down and Heattech, will be announced on the day of the website re-launch, on the 9th of September, when customers will be able to browse and buy from 9am. The reduced prices will be available until 13 September.

SAVANNAH MILLER AND ARTIST ROSE WYLIE IN CONVERSATION

Last night we found ourselves truly inspired at Westbourne Grove Church at ‘Savannah Miller and artist Rose Wylie in Conversation’ – an event hosted by the Friends of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, UK.

The evening marked the most recent Twenty8Twelve guest artist collaboration where Rose has designed two original t-shirt prints for Autumn/Winter 2010.  Every season Sienna and Savannah search for and support an emerging artist whose work they admire; their work is then included on the swing tags of all Twenty8Twelve garments sold globally.

76 year old Rose Wylie is a talented artist who has recently been included in the ‘Women to Watch’ exhibition by the National Museum of Women in the Arts at Washington DC.

Throughout the discussion, Savannah and Rose described how their partnership came to be, citing key moments that resulted in the final designs. 

The evening continued at the flagship Twenty8Twelve store on Westbourne Grove where Rose has also designed a window installation for the season. Her compelling artwork is on display and available to buy until the New Year.

Yesterday saw 22 of our favourite beauty bloggers treated to an evening of champagne and all things matte at the NARS Pure Matte colour matching event, held at Selfridges Oxford Street.  Celebrating the release of NARS’ brand new Pure Matte Lipstick available in 6 to-die-for shades (We’re already collecting), bloggers were colour matched to their perfect Pure Matte shade, from the palest nude of ‘Tashkent’ to the deepest rouge of ’Volga’ by one of three NARS stylists at the pop-up NARS counter on Selfridges 3rd floor.  Lucky enough to be matched by one of the talented NARS team, I have fallen utterly in love with blushing rose shade ‘Tonkin’…

NARS announces the release of its first short film, Pure Matte: Infinite Reflections, to celebrate the launch of this fabulous collection of lip treats.

The film’s director Tim Richardson created a bold and glamorous film, featuring model Heather Marks, based on the original Pure Matte campaign, photographed by François Nars.  “I wanted to combine two essential qualities of NARS. One is the graphic, strong nature of the brand, and the other is the idea of iconic glamour,” said Richardson.

FELIPE OLIVEIRA BAPTISTA NAMED CREATIVE DIRECTOR FOR LACOSTE

Today Felipe Oliveira Baptista was named as the new creative director of the LACOSTE
brand.

A graduate of Kingston University, winner of the Hyeres Festival prize and two-time winner of the ANDAM prize, the Portuguese designer was invited to join the official Couture calendar in 2005. He has been presenting his ready-to-wear collections at Paris Fashion Week since 2009.

“Baptista’s outgoing personality, his great sense of colour and his undoubted talent to project Lacoste brand codes in the future will be key to the on-going renewal of the Lacoste core sportswear and asserting the identity of new product lines such as Lacoste L!VE,” the company said in a press release.

“Heading an enhanced studio, the new Creative Director will serve the brand using his creative vision and contemporary interpretation of the female look, thus reinforcing the position of the collections,” it added.

Baptista’s first collection will be presented for Spring/Summer 2012.
